How long is esthetics school?

When it comes to esthetics school, there are several different options. Each one may be shorter or longer, depending on the type of program offered. It's important to understand how long esthetics school is and which program is best for you.

How long it takes you to finish esthetics school will also depend on the schedule you choose. Some schools offer full-time, part-time, and weekend schedules. Others may offer only a full-time schedule or an evening schedule.

It's also possible, in some cases, to complete the training at a community college. These programs tend to be a bit longer than other programs, but it depends on the program you choose. Let's look at a few options and how long it will take you to complete each one.

Alpha Esthetics Program

When you decide to train with us, you will complete 350 hours of education and training. We provide hands-on experience in many different services. Our training exceeds the state requirements on purpose because we know top employers want well-trained and well-prepared Facial Specialists.

Our full-time schedule runs five days a week (Monday through Friday) from 9 am to 4 pm. We only allow eight students at a time to ensure you get the one-on-one training you need. We have a part-time schedule in the works for the summer of 2022.

This program will take you about 12 weeks to complete. We go above and beyond the minimum requirements to ensure you're better trained to enter this new and exciting career.

Florida State Requirements

You have to complete 220 hours of education to get your Facial Specialist License in Florida. If you attend full-time, it will take you around eight weeks to complete this training. A part-time schedule might take 16 or even 24 weeks to complete.

Other states will have their own requirements. Some states require as much as 1,000 hours of training, while others only require 300 or fewer hours.

Esthetics School Through Community College

It's not uncommon to find programs at community colleges for Esthetics in Florida. These programs may require as much as 1,200 total hours and might take you an entire year or longer to complete.

There are programs that may not last as long, too. Some will take you around five or six months to complete. Most esthetics programs at community colleges will take twice as long or longer to complete compared to other training options.

Other Esthetics Training Programs

It's not uncommon for esthetics schools to last 20 to 30 weeks. It will mainly depend on the schedule you choose and the program you choose. Some are shorter than others.

When you choose a different type of esthetics training program, it won't take as long to complete as a community college program. However, some will still take several months, depending on the schedule you choose.
